Making Moments Matter

Hospice care is about living as well as dying.

Our aim is to provide comfort and peace of mind. People are treated as individuals with respect shown for personal beliefs, lifestyle and culture. We care for people from all backgrounds and communities.

Patients come to us for symptom control, respite and end of life care. We are here to support you through the challenging times ahead.

Become A Volunteer

Volunteers contribute in a wide variety of ways to the care of patients and relatives and to the general running of Friends’ Hospice and its charity shops. Much of our work is dependent on our volunteers and we value their support.

Some of our volunteers offer specific skills such as nursing, counselling or therapy. Others offer their valuable time to work in our shops, collect our local donation boxes and/or organise fundraising events.

Local businesses help by sponsoring a bed for a day, a room for a year or funding the salary of one of our specialist nurses. It costs €300 per day to care for each patient.

For more information on any of our services or volunteering, please contact the Hospice.
